The Rules of Merchanting

There are a few rules and guidelines to merchanting hat, along with a knack for pushing people's limits, make a good merchant.Follow these rules and even if you are not a natural I guarantee you can merchant, although not as well.

  • Connections: This means that the second you receive an item, before you go to a merchanting world and start yelling your item and price out, you scour your friends list and ask any and everyone you know if they would like to buy it. If they do not, ask if they have a friend or aquantaince who might. If you cannot and must sell on public chat, make sure that whoever you sell to in bulk you add. This means anyone buying lots of coal, feathers, runes, or anything else like that will probably buy it again, so befriending them could be very good for business.

  • Merchanting worlds: The merchanting worlds are worlds 1-7, both member and non-members. When you are selling and sometimes when you are buying items, go here.

  • Forums: Use the rs forums or a fansite forums to sell items if you are not having luck with connections or merchanting worlds. I also recommend selling to clans in bulk for a big cash inlet, which brings us to our next topic, bulk.

  • Bulk: When buying or selling things such as runes, arrows, ores, feathers, big bones, etc., be sure to buy large amounts as this usually saves you money. When sellin sets mith and above sell singly, though when selling sets steel and below I reccomend selling to a clan in bulk as clans always need these things and are willing to give you a good profit.
